In the spirit of promoting sustainable tourism, I would like to draft an email that I could send to all our clients and partners.

Could you share a template or a guideline on how to do this?

Hi Lionel, good to hear you want to communicate sustainability to your clients and partners. Unfortunately we don’t have a template for this as it’s different for every company. Thereby the approach for clients and partners is also different. However, here are some tips to draft your letter.

    For partners

Focus on sharing your own sustainability practices and explain why you care about good tourism. For example, share your participating in the Good Tourism Institute program and share what you’ve implemented so far. In addition, you can also ask them what they’re doing and even sign a commitment letter stating basic agreements regarding good tourism. Also have a look at Topic 6.4 in the “Become a better tour operator (level 1)” course.

    For clients

Focus on explaining why you care about good tourism, how you have implemented this in the travel experiences and how this benefits the traveller. What’s in it for them that you are sustainable? Also include tips for them to contribute to good tourism. Perhaps how to pack sustainably (reusable water bottle) but also how they can respect local traditions better. For more input, have a look at Topic 6.6 in the “Become a better tour operator (level 1)” course.

You can also share your letter here again if you’d like to receive feedback. Good luck!
